Title: Password on framed site
Post by: mhogan on March 11, 2016, 05:40:23 PM
I'm having trouble downloading a framed website that requires a password to access private areas. I was able to create a 'Forms and Passwords' entry that works, but it's not clear how I make sure that that page is hot before all the others are attempted. I also added a 'rule' for the login page (the inner frame  uri) hoping that it would force WebCopy to hit that page first - but there is no evidence that page is being hit at all.

The uri is http://www.burnhamstation.com/ and the login page target is CondoApp/Burnham/CondoLogin.cdo with these POST fields (userID and password removed):

CondoCode=00000006
UserID=
UserPass=
Submit=Submit

If you'd like credentials to test against, email me.

Hello,

Sorry for not responding quite as quickly as I'd like.

Seems the Capture tool doesn't work with frames, which is a new bug for me to look at. Although at the same time, I thought the time of frames was long over!

In regards to form posting, if they are defined in the "Forms" section as you implied you have done, then this is performed as the first action when performing a crawl - you don't need to explicit tell WebCopy when and where to do it, it just does.

WebCopy includes a "Test URL" window that can be helpful for this kind of thing - if you enter your form information into this and submit it, does WebCopy indicate that the login was successful and/or show the presence of an authentication cookie?

Thanks;
