I want to download all the lyrics of an artist.

1) I open the artist page contains list of the song names. (You click and see the regarded lyric) I copy the link.

2) I paste the link to WebCopy. Click Copy Button.

3) I go to the output folder and open the file "index-wcopy"

4) The page on the step 1 opens however when I try to click the song names I get this error on Opera browser;

Your File Was Not Found

ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND

How to fix that?

Hello,

Please provide the URL of the website you were trying to copy so that I can test.

Thanks;

What's the problem?

Ellicott

It looks that it is legit website with links.  Just like the website http://www.youngarts.org/news/post/2018winners    WebCopy didn't show winners link .  In fact WebCopy even didn't show the page.

Is there differences?   Anyone can share light in the tunnel?   Thanks.

Hello,

I checked the azlyrics site you linked and the problem is clearly identified in WebCopy's log - the song titles are in a different path to the URL you are scanning, so by default WebCopy doesn't include them as they are "above the root".

To copy these files you need to enable the Crawl above root option in the Advanced category of the project settings.

I will remove this restriction in a future update to WebCopy given that an easier to use and less confusing setting for limiting based on distance is available.

Also note that this website blocks IP addresses almost immediately so you may not be able to copy the files regardless.

I tried what you have said.

This time on this link;

https://www.metrolyrics.com/depeche-mode-alpage-1.html

I want it downloads only depeche mode songs lyrics.

Now It downloads even mariah carey lyrics. (Although there is no mariah carey link shown in sight.)

How to make it download only what I want?
